We often talk about aligning People, Process, and Technology, but do we actually do it?  Do we even know what “alignment” means?  If your boss, your client or a future end-user asks you what “alignment” is, and how you achieve it, do you know how to answer?

TriTuns Innovation recently published an article “Do We Really Align People, Process & Technology?  Improve Your Focus on People, Improve your ROI! that examines these issues and offers new ideas for improved alignment.  This article examines our definitions of “success” for IT projects.  It identifies how to improve the structure, skills, and activities of IT projects in order to increase your ROI.

One of the keys to improving alignment and ROI is to increase our own effectiveness at dealing with the “people” issues that encompass technology projects.  Improving your understanding of individual, group, and organizational behavior and gaining tools for effectively managing behavior is key.  Many of us in IT are experts in technology, process or strategy, but lack formal knowledge of human behavior and its implications for IT initiatives.  Increasing our knowledge of human behavior provides many new opportunities to increase our personal effectiveness and, in turn, our project success.

We invite you to read our article and send us your comments.  Please review our Employee Development web page to learn more about how to grow yourself and your employees.  There are many different things you can do to improve your own, and your teams’, ability to drive desired behavior.  We can help you clarify your development needs and customize a development program for your unique needs.  We also offer predefined development programs, such as our seminar “IT Strategy & People: Aligning People & Technology to Maximize ROI.  Please contact us to learn more about what we can do for you.
